Yoga & Art
INSTRUCTOR: Danielle Jacobs
DATE: 11/24, 1pm-3pm (THEME: Mandalas)
“Each person’s life is like a mandala – a vast, limitless circle. We stand in the center of our own circle,
and everything we see, hear and think forms the mandala of our life.”
Mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing wholeness. It can be seen as a model for structure of the Self and the Universe. When we practice a Mandala Flow sequence in yoga, we make a circle, traveling around the mat. The sequencing may have a single focus, such as opening the heart, or combine multiple areas of focus. In this workshop we will honor the seasons and their sequencing and how they guide and feed our lives. We will take time out to reflect through a combination of meditation, journaling and movement. From this place individuals will create their own mandalas using pastels, pencil, markers, words and collage.
No yoga or art experience necessary. Art supplies will be provided. Bring a mat if you have one or one will be provided.
