1.When I can’t stop thinking about something and dreaming about the image -just try and make it. You might surprise yourself.

2.Everything can be torn up, painted over, stopped at any time and reimagined. I have been coming back to pieces of art that I’ve done years and years ago literally 10 or 15 years ago that I thought we’re done and now I look at it and I wanted to add to it or reimagined it in a new way.

3. It’s OK to let loose and try things and let the brush go wild. I’m a Virgo. I’m very stuck in my ways and it’s hard to let loose and color out of the lines as they say, and I been stepping outside my own comfort zone and learning a lot.

My grandmother was a painter. My dad was a painter or is a painter, though he isn’t really still doing it as much but he has painted hundreds and hundreds of paintings all at a pure inspiration maybe 10 of them are awesome. The rest are just free expression. My grandmother was the most meticulous painter superduper detailed and so I feel like I fall kinda right in the middle of that. I’m giving myself more grace and I’m having fun and now I feel like I can’t stop!

The below painting is just the base layer, but this has been painted over and redone and isn’t even close to done but I’m having fun learning and giving myself time in between the steps to think about it and not being too impatient. And I’ve also been using variety of different materials in each piece that I’ve been doing instead of just sticking to one medium.

Thank you so much Payton for this 30 day art challenge even though I haven’t done nearly half of the projects. It inspired me so deeply.
